This little corny is Korean. It looks not like that, but if!
Specific level, it's pretty simple. U-handle super nice, 24 frets (the soloists will be delighted), three knobs (one volume for each pickup, and tone) and a three-position switch. In short classic.
The most interesting is undoubtedly the microphones, two EMG 80 in bridge and 61 in the sleeve. I will return to the microphones later.
I put 8, because first there is no perfection, especially because you may be entitled to mechanical self-locking Sperzel, but no, just Grover.
UTILIZATION
The handle is a marvel. In general anyway, the use of this guitar is a treat. It is perfectly balanced, relatively light (especially compared to Gibson LP ...). Lighter because the body of the guitar is thinner, for example. A little trick that I find quite unsightly and more useless, the notch is for the stomach (just like the Start). But it's a detail, and it is very personal.
Going back to the handle, it has easy access to all notes, until the 20 cargo, then it's a bit more complicated, given the shape of the guitar. That said, I played with the guitar placed very low, and I used my Explorer and my RR5, two guitars with access to acute perfect, regardless of the position.
The EC-500, it bother me especially, because my thing is rather the rhythm.
As for sound ... Omg. I chose this guitar for two reasons: First, I wanted a guitar with a slightly more conventional form, and a little more convenient (you can leave a chair against time to get a drink, but when you have a RR in the hands, it is allowed not anywhere ...), and secondly, for the EMG. Being a fan of Metallica, I was looking for a sound approximating what they can have on certain albums. A large distortion, said with that tone offered only EMG. Well I was not disappointed, we get very quickly that his looking.
SOUNDS
The guitar is therefore fully meets my expectations, and my style. I play mostly Metallica and thrash, I let myself go a little metalcore now.
No worries, I have exactly what I wanted.
I currently play on a Line 6 Spider III (waiting to offer me a while Randall lamps défouraille sec), coupled with a Digitech Metal Master. As for distortion, do not worry, I quickly find the sound I was looking for Metallica. It is probably likely to have a near-exact, but I customize a little. I even managed to get the sound of the late Dimebag on Cowboys From Hell ... In short powerful and accurate.
As for the cleans, I am not necessarily a major user, especially my poor transistor amp does not do them justice at all. That said I tested a few amps in the store, such as a Triple Rectifier, various Randall, of Marshall, a Valveking, and even a Fender all tube then, and boy, what's good ! A little reverb is active only 60, and presto, here we go. Very easy to have a sound type arpeggios of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," for example.
As for sound, not honestly, I love it. After it's actually a matter of personal taste. Some do not like active pickups, for example. Having been raised since birth in the worship of Metallica, I can only love what type of sound.
The only downside to the limit, cleans, and EMG are not the best for that. on the other hand for distortion, for me, it has no equal.
OVERALL OPINION
It'll be a month since I have it, I had already extensively tested in the store before, I think I have gone around, but I can not get enough. The only thing that might get tired, in fact, is its shape. I'm rather fond of as "extreme", a guitar shaped Les Paul, maybe a little too mundane for me, even equipped with EMG ... ^ ^
So probably what I like least about this guitar.
Before I get it, I have tried on the EC-1000 Deluxe, and honestly ... I think that ESP could not care a bit ofOur mouth. € 300 difference for what? Sperzel mecha? It's a bit limited. Although they are better finished. But even if actually paid more, I still prefer to buy a real Eclipse.
In terms of price / quality ratio, I find it really great. No complaints. It would have been the same if they had talked of the Deluxe ...
With experience, I do not do it again maybe not this election, I save more to pay me a real Eclipse. But if I had the same amount of money, then, yes, without hesitation. (Or so for a EX-500 or V-500, just to return forms that suit me more!)
