- 2-channel all-tube amplifier manufactured in the United States. Can be found today in the same model as the Fender Bassman 300 Pro Head.
- Lamps: 3x 12AX7, 1x 12AT7, 6x 6550.
- 300W RMS @ 2, 4 or 8 ohms.
<ul> Connections:
1 instrument input with-6dB switch for active basses in particular.
Mono effects loop post preamp.
Output power amp pass-through to send the signal to a second power amp in back up.
Log footswitch to activate the channel change, the graphic EQ and compressor.
2 LINE OUT XLR and TRS symmetrized, post-preamp, including a speaker simulation. Switch on the front or not to insert the EQ and effects loop in these outputs.
Tuner output to a tuner out (on the front switch to mute all outputs except one).
2 parallel outputs main speaker and external to the speaker (s) speaker (s) with impedance selector. </ul>

Volume channel 1.
+ Volume Gain channel 2
Mix the two channels (when switches on channel 2): 1-we just channel 1 and channel 2 just 10.
Low tone (+ / - 15dB @ 40Hz)
High tone (+ / - 15dB @ 6kHz).
2 low and high boost (+ 10dB @ 40Hz, 6kHz).
Reduction of mediums mid notch (- 20 dB @ 700 Hz).
Switchable 10-band graphic equalizer + volume (+ / - 12dB@31.5Hz, 63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 16kHz).
A switchable 2-band compressor (crossover @ 400Hz, ratio from 1:1 to 4:1) High Low comp + comp.
Balance for the compressor (provides a balance between the two bands)
Compressor gain to compensate for the loss of level.
Standby, the knob necessary to preheat the lamp and keep well during breaks without having output power amplifier.
Master volume (need to translate?) </ul>
On paper, it is already a very complete amp. I personally have not found other heads offering so much. That said, I put -1 for the weight and size of the beast that may be a bit scary (34 pounds for 65cm wide and 40cm long ... it's big!) -1 And again for access to lamp a bit of a chore. I know they are not change very often but this, unscrew 4 screws on each side and seen as they are enclosed in wood, is a sport!
UTILIZATION
Well then, as can be seen in features, it's a lot of knobs and you can quickly get lost ... Fortunately there are the manual - although in English - clearly explains the role of each setting. - One still in the absence of typical examples of settings that may facilitate the lives of a few newbies (especially on the graphic EQ and compressor).
<ul> After, there are 2 ways to use it:
you can connect both the low and do not touch that volume ... if so, it works very well, just a little bit on boost and it rolls just fine.
You can do the maniac and start hacking the knobs but it quickly became galley including the volume to be adjusted almost every time we Trifouille tones and also the compressor not easy to master. To this: -3. </ul>
Regarding the EQ, I prefer the parametric but it is still effective, you just spend some time on it to find what you want much to do.
SOUNDS
That's the tricky with the ... for a very short time, I will try to step back at best.
So far, I played with two bass on the head and always with a 4x10 "Eden:
Warwick Streamer LX one (4 strings, pickups P / J active MEC 2-band active MEC electronics) very typical, cut with a slap on his fat enough.
Lakland Skyline 44-02 a (4 strings, microphones J / $ passive Bartolini 3-band Bartolini electronics) as neutral, somewhat muffled and without the gap in the upper mid-range.
In one case as in the other, it sounds pretty clean fat (very fat even with WW), although old school.
The two channels allow the mix knob to move the "nice" to overdrive the big task saturation while maintaining low and are accurate (that is not negligible). In my case, I set channel 2 to have a moderate saturation and I supercharged with acute EQ pushing and digging a little mediums. So, using the foot control, I can use a clean, overdrive and a big, engaging the EQ, distortion of a large mule.
The two boost (low & high) and cut the medium radically change the sound, allowing my mind to go and explore various styles (rock, punk, ska, metal, blues, pop, dub), both of old as the recent but it's still concerning because the slightly bold / is filthy - I think - a barrier to jazz and Co.
Tested again, sending the head of the wood, even with a drummer / logger, I not exceed 3 / 10 the volume ... no worries, either to find its place in the spectrum.
OVERALL OPINION
As mentioned above, I have this only recently and therefore, I will update this review later. I take this opportunity to make a conclusion worthy of the name.
