Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason was re-organizing his warehouse and drum collection last year and wanted cases made that had a clear window pocket on them so he could include a photograph of the drums for easy identification.

The order came to over seventy cases, but it didn’t stop there as Nick wanted some very special cases made for his unique Ferrari & the Dark Side of The Moon kits.

Enter the Ferrari kit, a kit made by DW drums with permission from Ferrari to use their logo both on the drum kit and the Paiste cymbals that go with it. Nick worked with Protection Racket to develop a set of special custom rigid cases and gained permission from Ferrari to use the logo on the set, in a matching Ferrari red colour. Two sets of the cases were made, one for Nick and the other for the sister kit housed at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello (Modena, Italy ).
