The PA2 boost indifferent frquences all the reports of which it is connected.
Level of boost is adjustable.
It is not up on the table with his on / off switch incorporated or "on" position fixed under the plate or under the micro potentiometers
I use EMG PA2 for 3 months and frankly it's top.
I mounted on a Vigier Ultra (EMG) which is the configuration starting from the vibrato: 85/SA/81.
It is based on the simple (SA) to compensate for the diference of level with the other pickups (humbucker) and the intermediate positions.
Your exact that there is more difference in level (not amazing ...) and especially the intermediate positions (mixture of each double with single) are much more exploitable.
No more than background noise and the sound of the simple (I also did an installation for the simple one) remains the same because it is the entire signal (ie all frquences) that is boost.
I adjusted the level of boost, I wound the PA2 in the foam and I "planququot; in the cavity under the potentiometers (seen or known).
Most of the other boost adding noise and above all radically changed the sound.
I find the price a little expensive but not unreasonable when even.
I would do this choice without any hesitation.
