The sound?
It's a gretsch! So no output level too much, just enough to allow any type of distortion / fuzz / crunch to breathe and keep the natural EQ of the guitar. I've never heard of electric guitar have such beautiful low frequencies. It sometimes seems to have a piano in the hands, so the chords and arpeggios are sturdy and defined.
You want the sound of Gibbons? It's not the guitar that does everything. You will find the body of her LIVE in use since 2003, thanks to the huge resonance due to the body dug in the tailpiece which provides a lot of sympathy "natural reverb," and thus fantastic Feedback (very controllable) even a small gain . For this side, you win. But do not expect the sound of Mescalero like that! You will need a whole array of Fuzz, boosters etc ... Gibbons uses 07-38 (true). If you go up this game, it may derail the tailpiece the strings if you can attack a fort. So a change is to consider tailpiece (Bigsby special kind ropers in a casting, not adjustable). If you put the 10-52, no worries.
A small regret concernat volumes:
When you decrease the volume of the neck pickup to use the selector Switch Killer, the volume is not completely cut off, and a mean residue of her when you're on a high gain setting. Too bad. A small change is needed. For the master, there is no problem. It is very easy to access, but a little "short legs" if you want to make some tremolo effects into full play Problem solved by removing the pickguard, but the guitar is a chouilla less beautiful. Frankly, level feelings, it's the best trip! The Billy Bo cash all, Whammy, fuzz etc. without broaching, very little background noise, we "hear what we play !!!". In clear channel on the Hot Rod Deluxe, volume 4, Malcolm Young on Ballbreaker.
A guitar rockers to advise the adventurers that the purists are a good laugh. This is a guitar who wants to squint into the weird Pop, Post Rock, electro while maintaining a profound respect for the music of "before" ... Surreal, then! As Billy Gibbons.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a short month.
I do it again without hesitation, and then the visual impact is strong.
It is very expensive, so do not buy blindly. I tried the Les Paul, tips and macxhins, but nothing to do was this one!
In conclusion, not the guitar for everyone, but it has this spirit "evolutionary".
