« S101 Standard »

This is an EFT22 tele copy, made in China. Black, strings thru bridge instead of body.
I've played for over 40 years, a variety of music. Traveled with a regional act in the early '70s. Did the Nashville thing in the '90s.
I've had a slew of guitars over the years. My present collection includes a Fender (it is an F word) Strat, a Yairi flat top that I bought new in '73,a Silvertone archtop and my go to electric for the past 20+ years has been a Cortez LP copy(great guitar).

I was looking on E_Bay for a telecaster and ran across this guitar with a nice padded gig bag, a stand, a little battery amp, cord and strap for $35. Shipping cost more. I thought 'What the hell. I sure can't lose anything even if I don't like the guitar'.

This guitar has a great range of tone frome tele twangy to nice and woody. Though the tuners don't appear to be the highest quality they do stay in tune very well(better than my Fender). But it's the neck that really amazed me. After setting the guitar up I was blown away by how great it played. My F-word should play this well.

There's not much to fault this little guitar on. The bridge leaves a little to be desired and the tuners may get an upgrade in the future, but both work fine for now. The set up was terrible when it arrived, but 30 minutes with allens and a screw driver and 'voila' my new favorite guitar.

This is a very well made instrument. The only drawbacks are the string thru bridge and the tuners don't appear to be the best. No mars scars or sharp frets. Very tight construction.

I can't speak for every guitar S101 produces, but I got a winner. If it were lost I would most definitely buy another. It's hard to believe but the cheapest guitar in my house is the best guitar in my house.
