Excellent
Univox is a Japanese brand, made in Japan produced, the Hi Flyer models were copies of Mosrite of California, guitars were popularized by the group The Ventures, and also the Ramones.
Univox had a real recognition of a certain part of the public long after the death (in 1977 I think) with the popularity of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain who has used a number of these guitars (he even has a clip in the Heart Shaped Box).
The neck has 22 frets, the fingerboard is rosewood and maple neck.
The bridge is reminiscent of that of a Fender Jaguar, with the advantage that when a rope breaks tune the guitar did not (not like on a Start).
The electronic system is similar to a Telecaster (1 3 position selector, 1 volume and 1 tone generally). The pickups were original Univox humbuckers.
The finish is generally acceptable for a cheap instrument of the time.
UTILIZATION
The neck is well finished, smooth and glossy varnish.
Please note a fault on my key (selection of wood)
access is relatively good acute
The guitar that very light is balanced.
The sound is "fat" a big presence in the tone serious and less present in the treble and midrange.
The guitar from Larse easily especially with a Marshall amp (less or not at all on a fender rock pro 1000)
SOUNDS

the sound is powerful and the tone has no effect on the race for the knob tone.
I also appreciate the power of its clear to my game rhythm.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 2 months I like it a lot. this mark is not imported into Europe it is difficult to get all the brand disappeared. A copy made Nuvell brand it is but Eastwood did not tested I can not say what it's worth.
the scratching of a character by its look that does not go unnoticed and sounds devastating, I changed the pickups in a particular plaant Di Marzio DP100 in the bridge position.
value for money (I paid € 600) for a skyscraper of more than thirty years does not shock me.
this was two years that I was looking for a ... opportunities on ebay were tempting but good try before you buy an instrument is something essential and more than 80 euros on ebay I could try and leave the next day with my instrument, sure of my purchase!
