Published on 12/20/13 at 03:01I bought on a trip to Pusan (South Korea), which is my hometown. I go every year in Korea so I could see the progress made by their makers. Very honestly they are at the Jap and U.S. now. Moreover only the high-end brands like Cort or Moore is manufactured in Korea. The rest is outsourced to China or India!
It's the same whale, their low-end are made in China, the rest of Korea.
Killerwhale the turn is made in Korea in factories that manufactured the Ibanez prestige saber 2105. So the very good job done by workers as experts than Gibson or Fender!
The instrument is mahogany so we both his fender and sound of Gibson + metal sounds with the boost engaged.
Features:
- Mahogany body with one piece lightweight and very resonant vacuum
- Mahogany neck 24 frets rounded profile that pulls V in acute
- Seymour Duncan USA: SH6 distortion neck, Central sl6, TB6 distortion acute.
- Selector Tool + 5 position pickups split on the tone.
- Active Guitar (for my version) selector 3 positions boost bass or midrange. 9v battery in a trap.
- Pink Floyd zero friction identical to ibanez prestige.
This guitar is of incredible quality for the price. It has 30 sounds under your fingers!
UTILIZATION
The handle is very very successful, less typical metal my Ibanez Sabre, it allows you to play almost all music. V is less than my Fender strat deluxe and the frets are spaced less than my Ibanez. I do not even speak the handle 50 'Gibson my traditionnal!
The body is light, so well seasoned. very resonant and comfortable.
Floyd is impeccable. It fits perfectly the agreement and returns perfectly in place. More you can rely on for palm mute.
The sound: it is the apotheosis!
SOUNDS
Not split the sound is very fat, very heavy on the neck pickup, it sounds les paul. Splite once it becomes crystalline. With the active boost the sound gets much precision to accept very large saturations.
The bridge pickup is a killer, with medium boost it really tears while being thicker than emg 81 (and hot).
The out of phase 2 and 4 position offers its typical fender with a little more mellow maybe.
The middle pickup is great for funk.
In short this guitar is very effective, it offers 30 high quality sounds, hard not to find SOUND addressed whatever the style.
OVERALL OPINION
I love the warmth of this guitar, versatility that goes from metal to jazz, her perfect round. Its Boost bass or treble. For 780 euros, it is higher than my fender and my gibson and far ahead of my saber. Indeed it offers three such guitar sound at a time. An ideal tool if you need to use a guitar on stage or in studio.
