I use ColorSpot 170 in recent months, a machine is light and fast. It runs with a lamp of 150W CDM and good optical power or allowing it to rotate with other projectors 250W (a discharge).
Its biggest flaw is inside: The gobos are terribly ill-chosen first, besides 2 (the "circle" and "spots"), others are all similar and have little interest . Then comes the color wheel: It is better to be limited to light colors / hot, cold colors like blue and reducing the brightness too but for most not very successful (as is usually the case with apparently Dress ). In this use, we have quickly made the rounds of colors.
It's a shame because the rest of the machine is up, the strobe is a quick sample of slow. It can be missing a rotating prism, but it would probably lose too much power. The beam and the projections are clean despite the presence of a blue halo. Note that the focus can be set directly in DMX (very convenient). The combination of a single arm and a light machine allows the head of ColorSpot to be precise and quick in his movements.

Despite these shortcomings, the ColorSpot 170 can be a quite versatile machine (with changing gobos). Ideal for installation or for small parties when we know the use according to these defects, it is a convenient and compact machine. However I do not advise that the room is increased (ca rest of the 150w).

Update:
We now change most of gobos is much more pleasant to work with. I go back a little on my mind when I said I would not recommend to the scene because of its power: I have a very powerful beam that fart. The 170AT is suitable for (small) if we know the scene use.
