PRESENTATION
The ControlPad Controller is a MIDI / USB. Thus, it does not sound gnre by itself.
It possde on his face suprieure 8 pads (about 10x10cm), 3 buttons large enough to be manipulated by rod and a 3-digit display. Rear facing, there is connectivity: switch, power socket (DC 6V, 400mA), MIDI IN and OUT, USB connector (also used for food), one between the dual footswitch (incr mentation / dcrmentation of paramtres), 2 inputs for kick and hi-hat pedals, and 2 inputs for external pads.
Dimensions: 44x35x6cm
USE
The software installation was done without any problem.
The ControlPad is of great simplicity (may be too). The Function button is dfile Kits custom settings and configuration of pads:
Kits: there are only 20 memory kits. For each, 3 paramtres are available: Program Change message, MIDI channel of each pad and external Controller and MIDI note for each pad and external Controller.
Pad setup: the 3 rglages all kits are common: sensitivity curve dynamic threshold dclenchement.
Access in rglages DIFFERENT pads and the Controller is done simply by tapping on it to switch from one another.
Thurs
The rubber pads are a good touch and a good bounce.
With the threshold of the lowest dclenchement the VLOC minimum I could get was 3 of 127. With a dynamic linear curve and a SETTING THE sensitivity at the highest, you need to type relatively hard to achieve the maximum value of 127. But DIFFERENT rglages allow adaptation each type of game
Play the hand is possible, but not really suited.
I have not seen parasites of notes, even by tapping the collection's outdoor pads. on the other hand, a hit on the hull dclenche pad closest. Moreover, unlike what other reviews said, it is perfectly possible to hit two pads at the same time, without one takes precedence over the other.
With no pedals or kick of CONTRL charley, I could not test this level. I tried with simple footswitches (FS-5U Boss and Roland / Boss DP-2). I expected a maximum VLOC, but your exact is 64 (average value). And with the DP-2, is dclenchement relchement to the pedals (problem of polarity of the contacts).
GLOBAL NOTICE
I was looking for a MultiPad without sound to bring a little more than "feeling" my rhythm parts, I usually programmed by patterns, and thus avoid to touch the notes in my squenceur. My choice fell on the jug because I ControlPad Roland Octapad 1 and 2 too old. Since stopping the manufacture of ControlPad by Alesis, such machines are becoming new, and it's a shame for someone who adj available expanders and sound banks of batteries, and seeks a Controller simple 6 / 8 pads.
I would do without this choice hsiter. The only things I can blame him are the few memory kits (20), and the absence of a numrique pav for between values and access to these kits .
