Something like this isn't going to be necessary in a home studio, only in studios where you're using a ton of power like with a console and things of the like. What this does is ensure that your voltage output is consistent. If it fluctuates, you're most likely going to experience tone issues because your gear isn't operating at the full voltage it's supposed to be at. This makes sure that your output is always at 120 volts. If it fluctuates, you're most likely going to experience tone issues because your gear isn't operating at the full voltage it's supposed to be at. This makes sure that your output is always at 120 volts. The mastering room at the studio where I work has one of these in there to ensure everything is powered perfectly and that there aren't going to be any problems related to this at all. Of course in a mastering room this is more important than ever, but it's definitely an issue in recording studios with a ton of gear as well. The Monster Power AVS 2000 Pro is a rackable system that will take up four spaces in a traditional rack casing, which is where you're going to want to keep it as it's extremely heavy! There aren't any controls that you need to be aware of, as once you've connected it and have it up and running it will do the work you need it to without needing to do anything else. It does have LED meters on the front of it that show you input/output voltage and the amount of voltage correction it has needed to make. It's definitely expensive, but if you need it it's going to make a huge difference in your studio. I don't know of too many other automatic voltage stabilizers out there, since this is really the only one I've got experience with. I'd do some shopping around for sure, but it seems like it would be hard to go wrong with Monster when it comes to an important piece of equipment like this one.See less00
