IK Multimedia has released Riff Maestro, a free mobile app which they describe as "a guitar teacher in your pocket".
Riff Maestro lets you slow down audio on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android device so you can pick out your favorite riffs one note at a time.
Designed to be easy to use, it allows importing the song one wants to learn, set loop points for the passage to be learnt and adjust the tempo slider to adapt learning speed. There is also an optional (read “in-app purchasable”) chord detection feature that displays the chords in the song as they happen, plus a beat detection feature that syncs a metronome click to the beat of the song.
The basic version of Riff Maestro is available now for free for your mobile devices on the App Store or the Google Play store.
