AudioVault has released MicVault Live, a companion iPhone app to its MicVault Studio, this time aimed at live sound engineers.
The app provides miking advice, helping users choose the best possible microphone to use on a particular sound source.
Aimed at all skill levels, from “hobbyist” to “seasoned pro”, MicVault Live provides microphone recommendations for everything from drums and percussion, to strings, guitars and vocals. And, if the recommended mic is beyond the user’s price range, the engineers offer a low-budget alternative when appropriate. The app includes photos of all of the recommended microphones, as well as links to the microphone manufacturers’ websites.
