In its new v1.4 version, Audio MIDI Connect is now called MIDImorphosis.
The app, which is available for iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad, transforms audio into MIDI in real time. You can use it with any audio instrument or voice, via an iOS audio interface or the iDevice built-in microphone.
The app automatically detects the pitch of the instrument and translates it into MIDI. Secret Base Design adds that the system functions correctly at moderate velocity in real time, but you can also record the audio into the app and convert it later into MIDI notes.
MIDImorphosis is compatible with CoreMIDI, Virtual MIDI and DSMIDI Wifi, so that it can be connected to a computer equipped with Mac OS X, Windows or Linux.
The new version also adds Audiobus support, you can then play with other music apps. You can also import and export files via Audio Copy/Paste.
Also new is the polyphonic detection, and a switch allows for choosing between monophonic, small intervals and chord modes.
Last, the MIDI output supports multiple destinations (CoreMIDI, Virtual MIDI and DSMIDI Wifi).
MIDImorphosis is available for the special price of 1.79€ / $1.99, which is 50% off the regular price. You can download it from the AppStore and see all the details at www.secretbasedesign.com.
