« Marshall Vintage Sounds ... »
Published on 01/13/11 at 13:53Overdrive pedal and slight distortion.
Not editable.
Mine is gray (the color the least expensive).
No simu HP (personally I prefer).
Boss type 9V power supply, poorly located on the side, but has the advantage of being quasi-universal. Hyper
UTILIZATION
simple: volume (loudness), tone, gain.
Purchased from OCCAZ, no manual, but there is no need and there Catalinbread site for that. My stuff
SOUND QUALITY
test for completeness: Paul Bacchus equipped with Seymour Duncan Antiquity P90, Epiphone LP MIJ SD Alnico II Pro Slash amp Blackheart Handsome Devil BH15, BH112 cabinet, jacks Klotz LaGrange, EQ Boss GE-7, Marshall ED-1 compressor.
OVERALL OPINION
Go is the first review on this pedal, I'm starting.
Notice hot, so I'll come back over later use (if necessary).
Well, for my part, I tested the Tech21 SansAmp British: quickly resold it crachouillait, background noise, seem to have a "tone at zero all the time. I went a lot better with a mix Bluesbreaker Marshall II sounds and a vintage Marshall Guv'nor Plus sounds 2 Marshall 80's.
Exit Lovepedal Purple Plexi as the 800, although the tone of a JCM800 but [many] too much gain. Even at a minimum, it was above all that I already play.
Tonight I received this Catalinbread DLS. In "Rock", I love the crunch with the gain knob mini. In sum gain, is swept Led Zep, AC / DC over AC / DC. A report that is clean, much cleaner than the Marshall BB2 as his, even though I like the Marshall. Knob the tone is very responsive, and I love playing with the tones to give different moods (the muted the big thing that rocks the mix, yum).
In "Rawk", the voicing changes slightly. A hair less vintage, a little more JCM8000 (soon to be said, this pedal does not JCM). But it's Slash nickel in all its forms (and punchy rhythmic piercing or solo neck pickup - key to zero on the Godfather).
With EQ, there really is approached his JCM800. In short, you'll understand that the 2 pedals Marshall are excellent value for money (I estimate over the Lovepedal example), but are a notch below the DLS.
The DLS has less headroom than any other pedals las cited here. But it has the sound Marshall Vintage (at least the image that I do).
