« A very special grain »
Published on 11/11/14 at 01:29Characteristics listed on the web:
"Overdrive inspired by the sound of Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin at the Royal Albert Hall in 1970, it reacts a lot to the attack and settings microphones. Its 3-band EQ is also very interactive and modify one of its frequency ranges affect the other two. "
The pedal has 5 knobs: bass middle treble and master gain.
This pedal is analog.
UTILIZATION
A lot of interaction between the knobs but it's easy to adjust the sound.
The gain range can not go to high gain but this is not what is asked!
She stops to hard rock of the 70's which seems logical view of what it represents ...
SOUND QUALITY
I am not able to get sounds as good as that found on the net: I play on Marshall amp typed and this may just be there ...
The grain is very special and that is just, I think, which makes it sound like you can hear on the video with Fender amps.
I know someone who also has a RAH and plays "home" on a transistor amp to master the volume and is very happy with the sound he gets with his custom Strat ... For my part c ' is Humbuckers / Gibson amp Blackstar Artisan.
The best sound I got with this pedal is not my amp (Blackstar Artisan) but using it with Amplitube software (Fender Dual Showman simulation precisely!). On my amp, I prefer pedals Bogner Red and Blue: not at all the same grain!
This does not mean that it is not a good pedal, each element of the sound chain is important in the final rendering.
I wanted to try it in an amp with a real clear but I have not had the opportunity sound.
OVERALL OPINION
Used for a few weeks I got used to the particular grain then I reconnected my Bogner which are better suited to my amp.
I recommend trying before or to turn to the market the opportunity to buy it!
The overall rating takes into account the fact that I have not used on a real clear sound and it is perhaps in this context it sounds better!
