Distortion Overdrive pedal type (soft clipping for fond of English terms: p)
UTILIZATION
Using ultra simple, effective adjustments damn!
3 knobs:
- Left: Drive -> sets the saturation level
- Middle: Tone -> adjusts the balance between high and low (turned fully left: little acute, bottom right: a lot of treble)
- Right: Level -> output level of the pedal
SOUND QUALITY
Pedal Magic!
More than two years that I use. I've used distortion pedals and it remains my favorite. It returns all the time! Never disappointed, regardless of the amp (of course, a monstrous "all lamps")
Effect of overdrive, which means a fairly mild distortion.
Big interest of the pedal adds a lot of grain to your sound. Your sound is bland? Add this little wonder to color this!
Can be used on a clean channel as a channel saturated or even ahead of another distortion pedal to give you a potato with the fire of God!
Your distortion of transistor amp is not hot enough? Add him is the small Maxon is happiness guaranteed!
As you can see, it can serve as a boost and make it rain harmonics. Station to sustain!
OVERALL OPINION
Two years I use the little I was never disappointed. Of course, investment is a bit heavy, but knowing that it is a pedal you can still fit in your rack, it is worth the € 145 that I put.
I tried the Maxon OD-808, excellent pedal too, but the OD 9 has a bit more potato.
To stop blablatages the OD9 Maxon is a replica of the same original TS9 Ibanez, simply because it was manufactured by Maxon. The Ibanez TS9 today have nothing to do, so they are the pale copies.
The Maxon OD9 includes an exact replica of the printed circuit TS9 of the time but it also includes a Tru Bypass, which explains the absence of certain components because their functions are managed by the DPDT switch (it is good tps is a bit interested in electronics before distort the notice of beliefs).
A Tru By Pass means that when the pedal is off, the input is directly connected to the output, so your sound is not altered.
