It's been three years since we use the lucas 1000.
After the time of discovery, that of pleasure, here today taking stock:
It's always the money!
- It is a convenient, reliable and balanced
- Voice and instruments go well and few changes are necessary to "ring"
- The price is at the height of the product
- My problem ss dealer provides customer service and small galleys are well managed by
the importer.
After 300 nights:
-The cabinet making is dead (the medium does not like the way)
-Electronics no longer follows (limiter LED lit continuously)
- The sound changes when the lucas is hot
- The momentum is gone
- Fuzzy feeling, almost reverse-phase mid-evening.

In short, if you make some nights, it runs but it is not pro material!

We are very pleased qd same but soon we move towards a facade
more "robust".
In this regard, I am fond of your advice on sound systems between 1000 and 2000 w amplified or not musicians + songs!

I just give you my impressions after a few uses of a double system lukas 1000 (4 satellites, sub 2) belonging to a friend. Use was made of outside (300/500 persons) with a vocal, keyboards and audio (nothing too aggressive ....)

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?

- Reliability: No failure reported since 2 years
- Overall dimensions: well, the system is optimized on that point
- Finish: good impression
- Equipment: complete, nothing has been forgotten
- Power: I think the power announced by the manufacturer overestimated (not measured, but I refer to my 20 years of experience). Besides, my buddy had originally bought a set and he quickly found limited, hence the need for him to acquire a second.
- Commissioning: Quick and easy
- Transport: nothing to say for the satellites (one in each hand), for against the subwoofer is very heavy (it includes the amplification of part 3 pregnant ....) And low back pain awaits you if you want to lift it alone.
- Sound: good impression on first listen. The scale has no particular problem because the system is relatively well balanced. However, the treble is back and this is confirmed by the slight updates to the console MACKIE and are located in this part of the sound spectrum.
- Satellites: even if one feels that this part of the design is optimized HK AUDIO has not made a miracle and the laws of physics are met ... the satellites are small, the speakers also ... .. and it is felt as soon as you push a little. The LUKAS 1000 is a good system and its use must be well targeted. It is designed for small ensembles playing to an audience of 200/300 people looking for a small footprint and fast startup. If you are fond triphonic system and a budget equivalent (by accepting a larger space), look on the side of the speakers + subwoofer amplified (PEAVEY, YAMAHA ....). You will have a true compression, a boomer of 31 or 38 cm per speaker and a power and a higher yield with better sound spectrum allocated. In addition, each speaker has its own amplification, the weight will be more balanced (not everything is integrated in the sub ...) and commissioning will be easier.

- Strengths:

* Small size, ease of transport
* Simplified wiring, everything is in the subwoofer (amplifier, filter)
* Yield satisfactory 38cm in serious
* Easy expansion (with Lucas second example)
* Robustness (rain / cold / humidity / shock variety ...)
- Weaknesses:

* Limiting non-detachable and easy 'clip-'
* Sonnorité a little too "mobile disco" difficult to refine sound live
* Sound discomobile for 100 people, 80 people maximum sound great live (and inside) but well below the 150 people announced on pubs
* Curve not adjustable filters
* Limiter very present in the media, to highlight a difficulty voice amidst big bass

I worked with the System HK Lucas 1000 for 2 years in various benefits, sometimes even by coupling two systems and this is my opinion:

- Strengths:

* Small footprint, ease of transport
* Simplified wiring, everything is in the subwoofer (amplifier, filters)
* Satisfactory performance of 38cm in serious
* Easy expansion (with a second example Lucas)
* The amp and electronics are generally well thought out and offers a good value for money
- Weaknesses:

* Limiting non-detachable and easy 'clip-'
* Tone too 'mobile disco' and very difficult to refine into live sound, a huge power loss related to a clear EQ for the live.
* Sound discomobile for 100 people, 50 people maximum sound great live (and indoor).
* Curve not adjustable filters
* Limiter strong presence in the media, unable to bring out a voice in the midst of big bass.
* A good mixer is needed to refine the equalizer depending on the benefit.
* Fragility of the system, no secrets to trim the weight, the wood used in manufacturing is less dense (note I did not say thinner) so the first little shock abyss and begins on the wood.
