« uhh... the price »

The Westlake BBSM12 is a passive monitor that will provide you with a great crystal clear sound, this monitor has been out for quite some time and is still around in a few studio’s around here so I know for a fact that it is still in studios across the world. I have heard rumors about this monitor losing some of its “loudness” over time. I haven experienced that issue first hand at all thought, but I have heard that from several engineers that I have good relationships with. Hook this monitor ( or monitors if you have two of them) up to an amp because they will need the power and let it crank! They are very clear and concise and make a large sound that travels.

SOUNDS

The sound is great, you really couldn’t get much better without spending a fortune and I mean a fortune. But the price of these are very very expensive. Pretty much so expensive that If you don’t have a semi to major level studio budget then you wont be able to afford them. The monitor is kind of like a big box and its not very pretty to look at, but who cares about looks when its so loud and concise.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, whether you have 1 monitor or fork out the money and get to of them you will be blown away by the quality of sound that they produced. You will get a great mix and master when working with this. The low end is something that sticks out to me, it just seems like the low end is flat and accurate at the same time. It seems as if it is like a universal sounding low end that will make the low end sound good in any system (car, cd player, mp3 player .. Etc) the Westlake BBSM 12 just do the trick! But beware they are very pricey, so good luck being able to afford these if you are on a budget.
