2 new Tascam pocket recorders
The Tascam pocket recorder range now includes the DR-22WL and DR-44WL models, both of which are equipped with WiFi.
The WiFi integration on the new Tascam DR-22WL and DR-44WL pocket recorders allows for direct communication with your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. Therefore, they can be remotely controlled via the DR Control dedicated app, but you can also upload your recordings to SoundCloud from the app. Another software called File Transfert will help you send your recordings to you PC or Mac.
Both recorders host XY cardioid condenser microphones for stereo takes. The DR-22WL allows stereo recordings only while the DR-44WL adds a pair of XLR inputs for up to 4-track recording.
A Scene Dial feature allows for choosing between 8 types of settings, according to the material you are going to record (EZ, Loud, Music, Instrument, Interview, Dub, Play and Manual). The DR-22WL and DR-44WL include a limiter and a peak reducer, track creation by audio level or time. It also offers the ability to add markers and divide files at these marker points. Last, you can add some reverb to your recordings or choose between 4 preset frequencies for the low-cut filter.
Both recorders host a 0.3W speaker, a 128 x 128 backlit LCD display, a USB 2.0 port, an 1/8” line/headphone output and a slot for microSD cards (it ships with a 4GB card). They can be powered by 4 AA batteries, USB or external adapter.
