% $ 1 AMP MINI ARTEC his writing 5W (RMS) SOLID WOOD + TUNER

This mini amp is a real 5W RMS high quality because it has 4 positions of modeling, an expander and the sound of the HP is supported by a solid wood trim. It can also act as a preamp if you connect an external HP and the chromatic tuner is integrated, making it possible to do without a cable and a tuner. Suitable for all types of guitars on "Tino" works with a 9V alkaline or an area of 12 volts (not supplied)

Features:

4 Modelling Positions: Clean, Hot Tube, Over Drive, Hi Gain

Expander potentiometer to vary from one rich in midrange sound hot

Chromatic tuner

Dimensions (cm): 8 X 16 X 13.5

Weight: 808 g

I find that the advertised power is a bit exaggerated. To me it sounds more like a 1W. I have also a micro cube Rolland 2 W which sounds much stronger than this one.

Otherwise, point well, the built-in tuner. Very convenient for travel.
I would have preferred it a little smaller for carrying around more easily (in my guitar cover for example).

Otherwise, good product "all in one."
The wood trim is very nice and makes it a beautiful object to have at home.

I am not 10 because of the size a little too large for the intended use and the power displayed greatly exaggerated (5W it should sound louder).

UTILIZATION

Very simple configuration.
The button "expander" can play on the "heat" of the sound and make it less cold and metallic.

The sound is easy to find manual unnecessary.

The tuner is very handy again.

It is very suitable to repeat at home, without leaving the big all-tube amp, or headphones to play. It's also great to see the trip to play on the train with headphones without disturbing others.

SOUNDS

The sound for an amp of this size, is very correct.
However, it remains cold enough, which is typical for a small amp of this size and after trying a Fender mini deluxe, I find that the sound is frankly better on this amp.
Still, one would expect its a little better view of the wood trim.

There are several possibilities of sound, which is interesting. Still, the sound tends to be saturated and garish bad. For my part, I play mainly in the clear.
Headphones, the sound is very clean as we stay in the clear. On its full, it is better to forget the headphone ... but that's valid for any amp that does not simulate the HP headphones.

My advice for a sound less metallic and cold set the expander in the opposite direction clockwise, so to have more medium and severe. You can also play on your guitar tone knob and there was a sound that approximates a bigger amp, in terms of EQ.

I tried it also with my bass (not too strong). The headphone is very correct. on the other hand, not so good at hp. That said, it is very suitable to repeat the headphone in the evening when everyone is sleeping!

I put 8 in the overall quality of the sound but could be a little better, especially saturated, even considering the price of this amp and wood trim.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had three months and use it fairly regularly, especially at night or while traveling.
It is very versatile and it is significant.
Moreover, it is a beautiful object to have fun decorating.

I tried several mini amps and by far is the one who convinced me the most.
I think it still is expensive (69 € chez Woodbrass) for this type of amp. There are bigger amp, with better sound, the same price. The Pignose is cheaper, although less than lugging it.

I referrer experience with this choice because for lugging around, it is very good.

I do not put that 8 because of the price a little expensive and the sound that could be further improved, in my opinion.
