We use the Electro-Voice SXA-250 for 5 years at least. Initially we had invited several companies and we have tried and compared to EV, JBL, Mackie, QSC, and another I forget. We chose the EV for the roundness of sound, the sound quality and flexibility of sound. We use it for speeches, meetings, conferences, music, band, etc.. Since we bought two more pairs of these famous SXA-250. The wooden box has probably to do with sound quality. EV stands out from the competition in this category. We also have 8 cases EV SX-300 (unamplified) and personally I prefer the sound of SXA-250. My tech is a bit of Electro-Voice, but I think his allegiance justified.
