It's been almost four years since I played with the tenor before I spent seven years with some violas, two in fact: a ruin East German marks Weltklang, Trevor James and I always but I use less and for good reason: the JTS889 is excellent. At the time of purchase, for the same price almost as I can take a Selmer Series III. I opted for Jupiter:
First, the non-musical side: it is aesthetically beautiful, silver and gold keys, silver jar (it seems that it's something in sound, personal'm not too sure, at least I never got preview ...)
Then, technically, it's a sax that does not move: the mechanisms are very stable, the keys do not move, in short, a review every two years is enough (and even there it's just 2 years as mine has not seen the repairman, and the need to do so is still not feel). At ergonomics as it is very good, no need to bend the fingers and place them on the keys, everything is at hand. Even the sharp F sharp is easy to access (I tried four or five other big names which could not be said).
Finally, the musical, it is also excellent. The sounds come out very well in the grave, in the upper well. Harmonics out properly, too, a little less shrill (this is mostly a technical problem on my part, I was not used to playing high-pitched!). I play with a beak Dukoff (jazz), which gives more a sin of his hell, and also a very sweet détimbré when necessary.
I put 9 / 10, but he had to find a flat to justify the absence of 10. I do not see a priori, then I change and gives 10!
