Published on 07/02/11 at 14:59From 5-6 years, this makes me snare of loyal service. The sound is a good compromise between the maple and stainless steel, perfect for me who was undecided at the time. The warmth and roundness of wood, combined with the slamming of the metal version 14x5 "sounds really funky.
Now, I tend to neglect this material in its solid or not deep enough. When you play the stoner, it is advantageous to ring in the grave!
For mechanical, everything is excellent, the trigger of the shells through the hoops. They have not aged a bit while I do not play that rim shot.
I just tried a Gretsch Renown Maple home in 6 ", and it really makes you want to retype it. My next purchase will probably be this one.
The machine is (was, at the time) at a price less reasonable for this type of material. Had I known, I would have expected the supply of Model 6 ", but as I was young and impatient, I contented myself with the short version.
