Published on 02/19/14 at 12:05This module is a "Desktop" type (also called O3) with a total of 7 and for any non-editable internal sounds (expandable by specific card). The polyphony is 16 notes and 8 multitimbral parts (with dynamic allocation of polyphony). The sounds can be assigned to a Notes window, allowing splits and stacks. Furthermore, it is possible to individually assign sounds to each of the two outputs multi.timbral mode.
Found in this module two string sounds, the sound of choirs (very realistic for the time and represents the interest of product or almost), a brass sound, a set-guitar-bass battery (averaged over the keyboard) and two organ sounds (jazz and liturgical).
Some sounds are derived from M1, but all in all more character.
No built-in effects.
UTILIZATION
I think the manual is not indispensable ... The few parameters are printed as often with Korg. The display is limited against a poor 3-digit 7-segment.
SOUNDS
This module is part obscure well-kept secrets. Vangelis used his fabulous vocals sound right out, especially during the first half of the 90s. Those who watched "Musiques au Coeur" at the time will remember this sound (he was placed on a T3). It is also present in "Launch Approval" (Blade Runner Trilogy) or at the end of "Hispaniola" (1492).
You can hear other sounds of this module on a famous video sharing website where a user has posted a demo.
I found the string sounds also quite nice although not comparaispn with what is currently done. Fans of jazz organ M1 (which I find really cliché) will also be addressed.
Briefly, a small module with character and underrated. 6 sounds in general, but 10 choirs ...
OVERALL OPINION
I recently bought a famous auction site at a price that decency forbids me to mention. I do not speak either of value.
In any case, if you want a realistic choral sound (and even more with a good reverb), do not hesitate to put you in search of this small module that does not absolutely pay mine.
