« A super (be) guitar. »
Published on 10/31/12 at 12:57Made in USA, maple neck, custom shop pickups 3.
Case solid but ugly (kind of hammer drill kit).
UTILIZATION
The neck was my first surprise. I'd always played on a Les Paul, I was confused for a while. But finally play this neck is very comfortable. Compared to Gibson, was less like having something imposing, massive. Here, it is "easier", less round.
Negative (retail): black plastic inlays and white plastic nut are a little low end. Just like the knobs, too.
Paint, varnish, adjustments, however, are small potatoes.
The guitar is not so light that, but very balanced. Sitting or standing, perfect.
The mechanical hold moderately well agreement, neither more nor less.
SOUNDS
Sounds cool, with a clear preference for the intermediate positions.
While slamming.
With my Marshall Class 5, the record is still quite round and polished.
I tried a little on a Deluxe Reverb: fantastic clean sounds even at low volume. Finally, the myth of the Fender had influence me ...
OVERALL OPINION
Since September, I took out two or three of my Les Paul's case. Not that displease me suddenly, but the Strato is so comfortable and easy that I find myself not playing it more.
In absolute terms, it remains lower than the Gibson, richer, opulent and deep. In any case, under my fingers.
The price / quality ratio seems satisfactory. I do not feel they have overpaid for the instrument. This is a great (be) guitar.
In the future, I dream of a Fender amp, like Princeton Reverb RI. In the meantime, I do not regret my choice.
