Published on 12/31/02 at 15:00$250 on Ebay - was looking for a nice guitar for lead stuff.
Well...lots of stuff! Jumbo frets were nice, b/c my previous guitar was really worn down as far as frets go, and it was so easy to play lead stuff on this. Very comfortable neck, and the locking trem stayed in tune nicely even when I did some very aggressive whammying. Sounds great with distortion for any kind of rock or metal! Big strap buttons were stock so my strap never fell off. Fantastic looking guitar, too! Beautiful jet black finish that I could see myself in (well...that was the only ugly part...).
It was kind of a pain to re-string, but well worth it once the strings were on. This baby has some weight to it, but it wasn't uncomfortable. As far as sound goes, it was kind of a cold and dark sound when played clean, but very powerful. I would have prefered a warmer sound, but that's not what this was made for.
SUSTAIN!!! lots of it! Very sturdy and well built. Finish was great -- I dropped it once on a concrete froor and it hardly even made a mark! Polished it and now you can hardly even notice it at all.
Even though I got it cheap, I think it sells for about 400 online new. At that price it is an amazing value if you are looking for a moderately priced shred-machine with great features! Don't have any second thoughts about it -- you won't regret buying it unless you want a blues guitar, but then why are you looking at a Jackson anyway??? Fantastic guitar at a great price!
