« Kramer Focus 3000 »
Published on 12/08/06 at 15:00I've been playing for 40 years now and have played all kinds of guitars. No bands for me anymore just home studio type stuff. Love old rock mostly, classic rock I guess, and blues.
I bought the Kramer in 1985 brand new and bought a Peavey Backstage Plus amp with it for around $500. One of the best buys I ever made.
I wanted a Gibson SG or a Fender Stratocaster but didn't have the money for a nice one of either so I compromised. I bought the Kramer because it has a humbucker pickup in the bridge position and two single coils up front. I thought it was the best of both worlds....and it was.
I really don't like the locking tuners and all that crap but I got used to it.
Very well built guitar and has a pretty good amount of weight to it. Nice tone for a cheaper guitar.
I now play my SG and my Stratocaster mostly. But every once in a while I pull out the Kramer and it always makes me smile just to play it. I'm glad I bought it way back when and glad I kept it all these years. I think I'll go play it right now!
