Squier Stratocaster (Made in Japan)

Made in Japan in the Fujigen factory, but reserved for the US market (Fender USA then suffered quality problems and above its standard Stratocaster faced competition from superstrate Jackson, Carvin and ESP The decision was made to react by producing an instrument fast neck and equipped with powerful dual microphones to attack attack style more "nasty" while preserving its legendary "Fender".
- What surprises on the guitar is its weight, it is much heavier than a US Strat.
This is due to mahogany body in one piece which gives a much better sustain the alder US

USE

The handle is in the tradition fender but thinner and with a very gentle touch, fingers slide easily to the latest cases, I play twice as fast with Ultra Contemporary with my strat.
The guitar is a bit heavy (because of mahogany), but it allows him to have an unknown until then sustain a Fender. The notes are really long.
With a toggle switch 3 difficult position of not finding a good sound.
We can play the blues on the neck pickup, funk, mid and pickup. So much for the clean sounds.
What is amazing is that we have the sound "FENDER3 despite humbuckers.

SOUNDS

On the clean channel, we can do many things. Microphones albeit double lens and give a very balanced sound. The neck pickup gives a rather round sound, but also kind Gibson set, the middle position allows playing arpeggios kind Purple Rain when the pickup, it really sounds like that of a jaguar, or a strat but beefier.
In overdrive, the neck pickup is puncher, perfect for blues, power chords, the neck pickup possess an incredible bite, one can make stoniens riffs, the sound is huge.
Saturation is Star Wars, the sustain is amazing, the demonic attacks, saturation flow like honey or otherwise can become very aggressive as positions. Van Halen, Hendrix, this strat starts where others stop!

I buy this guitar in 1986 in the USA, Funk, Blues, Hard, no style that can not be played with this guitar.
If you are a fan of the Strat but find your scratches a bit feeble for punchy rock, this contemporary strat is the tool for you! It has the comfort and feel fender with potato and more!
Well, it's a rare item, well above the US strat for hard rock but also as a violin. Level prices, japan Strat 80s are starting to be a bit expensive, but that's normal, it is much higher in the US today and yesterday (except for L series and signatures), but one can still find around 500 euros, in ten years they will cost 1500 euros so if you find one in good condition, please, this is the perfect partner for a standard strat. It is far superior to Kramer, Charvel, Jackson and other species. The soloists will appreciate especially.

My strat is a series P, ie model 1993-94. Like all Squier Japan, it t manufactured in the factory Fujigen, the same factory that made high end Ibanez! Besides Fujigen is serious as vibrato.
I bought it in 2600 francs at the time, the fender mexico worth 2,800 francs but c'tait crap, the Squier core (series E) worth 1,600 francs.

I changed the mcaniques against the accuracy of all mcaniques.
The guitar is not unlike some US dsaccorde whose ping mcaniques are horrors.
Nothing wrong, it's one of my guitars prfres (I had over thirty L'aria pro 2 TA 61 the jackson soloist usa).

USE

If you like metal, endless solos and wigs dcolores: This guitar is not for you.
This strat japan really fits the spirit blues / rock.
The handle is warm, sturdy, ideal for bends, the hendrixiens solos, the slap funk.
The ergonomics are very good, the body is pluttlger (compared my Telecaster Ash 66), in short we begin to Clapton for hours.
Microphones rather well bear the heavy enough distos but keep sound "vintage", you blow not modern.
Crazy hendrix I use a Vox wah pedal and FuzzFace and any amp behind it (line 6, fender twin, Laney tc).

In conclusion it is all a matter of taste: this guitar is for you if you like rock, blues and are 50's and 60's
in this area it is 10.8
If you have 15 years and trasheur: buy a BC RICH and paste it EMG 81 and 85.

SONORITS

It really is that the guitar is poustouflante!
Output level standard, heat, prcison are the masters words.
No mexico strat can compare him fender mexico sound too strident and imprcises.
Personally, I think we are at the current US, well above the highway one.
-The Micro possde serious momentum, the body while both crystalline and very powerful.
-The Middle pickup, ie position 3 is a killer (in overdrive I've never heard better.)
-The Positions out of phase 2 and 4 are great for arpges Little wing.
-The pickup possde a good level of output, superb it clear or with a lightweight saturation. But to tell the truth, I prefer the neck pickup for power chord and micro environment for aggressive solos.

Conclusion: we are well above the current standard Fender, this guitar is really a leading strat. She normmant of character, quite in the spirit of Reissue 57 '. I may be lucky but mine does not buzz despite his age.

I use this guitar for 16 years, I love everything about her, her polish tarnished his sleeve marked by my fingers.
Objectively, it Suprieure the fender mexico and Highway 1 us. I find it that current guitars lack of personality.
In fact, the Squier P japan series truly is the idea that is sound "Fender" slamming, shiny, warm.
I pray to keep my Start as long as possible, in fact I am not in concert with for fear of damaging ...
For 350/450 euros price I finding on the web, I think it's a great opportunity.
For cons, I dconseille current Squier, shit factories by children for children.

OVERALL OPINION

I love everything about this guitar except that I changed selector and electronics that I replaced (condo and paper pots CTS)

I also have a US maple which is not bad but far below.
on the other hand, it is true that all the JV is not the same. I bought three before it. I think one of them was an assembly.

Of the 4 I had only this one really stands out, ie, that this strat is really exceptional.
