Guitar designed in the Custom Shop Ibanez California and assembled in Japan with US electronics (pickups, knobs).
The brand was not very widespread in Europe (mostly done in Japan and USA market).
My copy is color Pink Cadillac (pink salmon), much more beautiful than the ugly scratches from the photo.
The body is swamp ash (swamp ash) for a super sustain
handle 24 cases with profile between Fender and Ibanez.
Ibanez Pickups / Di Marzio very vintage sound is warm and full as fender texas
bearing tremolo that allows more fancy than a vintage
very resistant lacquer varnish
no ugly metal plate on the back but a chamfered body
I bought 500 euros a particular last year, she had hardly served: the guy was a Japanese and American guitar collector.
I would put 10/10 because the quality is far above a Blade or a Fender American standardet is so much less mundane! Nothing to do with the wooden guitars cajette made now.
USE
The handle is great, a crossover Ibanez and Fender, we can both make technical drawings and play pushes it to the blues.
Guitar heavy weight (that is a guarantee of quality) heavier than a Mexican Strat but reasonable weight for a Les Paul or telcaster 52 '. If you are used to agathis or lime Chinese scratch, it may surprise you. But if you play on a US Strat, the starfield is in this level of weight. This is what real wood!
Hyper comfortable Guitar (Lag to copy the form for its Jet Series)
You can play for hours without getting tired shoulders and fingers. Special mention to handle very high end.
To use, you can play blues rock but not metal (albeit with a good distortion pedal ...)
SOUNDS
The sound is clear and ample hot and defined, we immediately sniffs quality. Not at all like the dry nasal fender mexico and texas Blade, we are in the register of a Fender equipped texas microphones. The neck position is really crying, beautiful to make good solo. Intermediate positions are soft and crystal clear. The bridge pickup is slamming and powerful, great for funk solos style Hank Marvin.
It's really surprising we're really in the register of a fender L series (year 60's) with rosewood fretboard.
I understand why the starfield are sold so dear in web vintage stores (count no less than 1000 euros ...)
NOTICE GLOBAL
I use it for 1 year, I have known the brand because Curt Cobain had one, and Satriani for a short time.
At the time of my youth it was sold between 700 and 900 euros depending on whether Korea or Japan. In both cases, I did not have the means to buy one myself. When I have found one for sale, I jumped at the chance.
I love everything about this guitar for that matter, but I would have preferred a maple fingerboard, I play better on clear sleeve ...
The price is unbeatable Value.
This is the guitar I most coveted (10 years of waiting before you can offer me ...), I love it, it is more versatile than my fender maple fingerboard that sounds a little dry, which is sometimes annoying when you want to play something other than funk.
I love to use it in the clear for trips to Little Wing.
