I will not really into the details for this section, as people above have already rather well explained. The features listed jahqua are fairly complete. Otherwise you can visit the Korg.
UTILIZATION
The first time you see the gear you'll probably be impressed by the number of buttons on the front there and therefore you may think that the device is not controllable. Think again this is not the case. The menu hierarchy of editable mode follows the logic synthesis parameters directly modifiable front. And all is well signposted. For those who are already touching the old analog machines completely you will probably find it easier to use but still take the time to understand the workings of the beast because it is a machine that can go much further than you can imagine. For those who do not know analog synthesis, the machine is still for you. The only requirement is to take the time to understand the craft and its many possibilities. Read the manual up and down (although for some it's really boring), and keep close to you you will probably be very useful. The advantage of buying such a device is precisely in understanding it. If you did not spent the necessary time you'll quickly tell you that the radiant is far too complicated, while this is not the case. Remember, you should never trust appearances. The more you spend time, the more you discover its richness and its multiple possibilities, the more you will become totally insane ... I sleep with almost short.
In short! Of course, not necessarily clear the first few days but after a good month to use it as regularly as possible (ideally every day: P is not a Suspicius I assure you) you begin to master it very well.
SOUNDS
The sounds are suitable for all types, given the multiple synthesis technology of the floor. Do you trust the sounds already in memory, they are very focused Trance, Dance, Techno. I totally saved me the factory programs on my PC (and yes you can backup everything on your Mac or PC with the included editing software), and I reset all the programs of the floor. So I have plenty of room to create my own textures, and I need to find the factory sounds are assets to the shelter in my PC and on CD. In short, I have some leads for indie rock, electro, ambient, through the pads, orchestral sounds, sounds terribly analog, you can simply do it all.
The purists will be impressed by the richness of sound and movement in space ... those who love vintage sounds will be too. The demos are quite purist I change some parameter (a very useful analog tune ...) you already get the sound of analog synth evil tune (an important feature of the warmth of those old machines). Other parameters are to add harmonic distortion, or the famous Waveshape ... There's a short range of the editable parameters that allow you to own the sound and make it really dirty.
Each program can contain up to four timbres, which gives sound exceptionally rich colors, variations or power. However, with only a stamp you may already have a sound terribly colorful given the number of parameter you can assign to stamp ... (7 virtual patch: patch replaces the old analog synth, sequencer mod 3 per patch, plus arpeggiator, step sequencer, insert fx, fx master). You play with sounds as with the clay.
The drumkits sounds exceptionally well.
The vocoder is powerful, the other will say it's crap, but I know many who can afford a rack vocoder over 1000 balls. And the work of the floor really well.
The effects are totally effective, unlike other products where they are not usable.
The filters really help to change the texture of the oscillators, envelope generators are very effective and their response curve changed.
The LFO's are also used as a modulation source and work really well.
Just insane!
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for almost 1 month.
I really like all of the gear, we see that there are many years of know-how from Korg in this machine, except perhaps for the step sequencer there is no possibility of changing pattern along the way, but details can really important. In the worst case, you can have different pattern that you link via MIDI by assigning the Stamp using the drumkit a specific channel.
The INPUT can give even more by changing the parameters of the RADIAS external signals (CD, instrument, brief any machine that generates sound and possessing audio outputs), you can also use for EF (envelope follower) as the trigger, modulation source. See for yourself.
The look is superb, great ergonomics, touch that button all the knob is nice.
The price / quality ratio is excellent because you have a very full synth.
I would do this choice without a doubt.
Great product, beautifully managed, and which undoubtedly will change the way you make music, a monstrous beast, but good for all musicians.
