« Good but not for everything »

60-watt Class AB all-tube amp, auto BIAS (from memory: 2 x EL34 and 4 x 12AX7).

2 channels (clean/lead) with Gain/Bass/Middle/Treble/Volume for each channel, reverb, digital chorus, 2 distinct master controls, speaker outputs: 4/8 Ohms and 16 Ohms, FX loop with wet/dry control, 4-function footswitch (channel 1/2, master 1/2, boost and effect).

There's a control for the reverb level, but not for the chorus.

By now it ought to be clear to anyone: In terms of features, this amp head is very comprehensive.

USE

It's very easy to use, even if the footswitch is not that well-conceived because it doesn't necessarily work too well.

I don't think it's a quality issue, but rather a design one, meaning that a button doesn't work well if the one on its left is engaged, if I analyzed the issue correctly.

But it could also be simply a manufacturing quality problem, I'll have to confirm that.

SOUND

In terms of sound, it's clearly on the vintage side of the force.

The clean sound is very smooth, very warm, I like it a lot.

On the other hand, I didn't really like the distorted sound so much, but that's probably a matter of taste, I found it rather fuzzy.

As for the crunch sounds, they weren't bad, but nothing to rave about, but once the distortion is higher it's clearly not a high-gain anymore. It was too bass-heavy for my taste. To get a a cutting sound I set the bass to 0 and the highs all the way up, be it with a mahogany or alder guitar.

OVERALL OPINION

It's clearly an amp head for vintage rock/blues sounds. The clean is great, and the crunch sounds could be all right with a TS, but, personally I didn't like the distortion sound, that's why I sold it. And it's a pity because the clean channel is really good and it has plenty of features, but an amp head whose distortion sound you don't like isn't worth keeping, in my opinion.
