Powerful 15-watt tube with two channels (two amps in one), four inputs, etc.

Neither FX loop nor reverb.

UTILIZATION

The second channel is extremely simple: gain, treble and bass controls, two inputs (normal and high gain).

The first channel has a different EQ circuitry but the user's manual is very clear about that.

SOUNDS

For many years I tried to get a good sound with a Digitech multi-FX which had the reputation of being the best US-made effects processor... and I failed.

I tried to get a good sound with several solid-state amps... with high output volumes... and I failed.

I spent hours editing the V-Amp 2, which was supposed to be the best digital emulation tool... the sound was ice-cold...

So I tested "real" emulations made by Line6... the sound was better but still very average...

I then went the analog simulation path with the SansAmp... It's pretty good for recording applications but it's boring after a while...

And then I bought this vintage-style Vox and a Koch Loadbox, I turned all knobs all the way and I got the right sound... You don't even need to search for it! And it works with budget and expensive guitars!!

What about versatility?? Does it matter!?!

The sound is creamy and you don't need a pedal... Nothing sounds so good as the saturation, the crunch and the depth of power tubes.

OVERALL OPINION

This amp is so good that it encouraged me to buy a second one.

Compared to modern AC15/30s it sounds warmer, deeper, richer.

Use it at 3/4 or full power in pentode mode (I use a power attenuator but still at full power anyway) it's the ultimate sound experience!!
