« British sound in the living room! »
Published on 09/04/11 at 13:31Everything has been said before but it's well built, strong and beautiful (I had the cab 10 inches in the lot).
Pou quibble, one could claim that the operation mode Eq thick and an effects loop maispour € 230 amp + cab, do not exaggerate!
on the other hand, a switch to change to a thick volume and a bright channel volume for the channel thick, it would be great!
UTILIZATION
Extremely simple configuration, the Master Volume is very progressive. The manual is useless, one branch, we play!
SOUNDS
Perfect for rock, pop, blues, punk with the sound british.
The clean sounds are good, but Vox typed enough headroom with a very moderate (that's 2W). So, leaving the gain at 10 and pushing the volume, it remains clear and beautiful on a Start and even an LP, but plugged into a 4x12, it hardly covers the drummer in the clear (that is not made for either! ).
Going up the gain, it gives it more volume and crunch.
By switching thick, bite it like a Vox while remaining accurate. The sound is typed (good if need to buy Vox) and all the guitars have interesting sounds.
Except if you want to play in his very clear is just enough (4x12 connected) to a rehearsal with drummer + 2 guitars + bass or a small stage.
With 1x10 Vox, at home, we find the character at low volume and dynamics correct. Of course, the 1x10 does not cash the 2W pushed to the back of the amp. It's a nice little cab home.
OVERALL OPINION
After a few hours at home and a rehearsal in comparison with my Hughes & Kettner Statesman Quad EL84, I find this little amp perfect for home (you can play a volume compatible with social and family life undisturbed in case mons thick volume at 9-10am and gain at noon!) and potato surprising when one plugs into the cab muscular.
Of course, those who do not like the Vox, do not buy!
For others who love and want to regain some Vox sound at home or in rehearsal (a small head of 20 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm to lug around, it's great!), Is perfect.
Those who want to use only to repeat. + Stage will have to buy power over immediately but more expensive!
