I mixed several years on the MKII, and recently I went to MK5 (after a small break).
All the "flaws" that I found annoying about the MKII are gone (especially click on the 0).
It is true that I have not tried beacoup other brands before I decided for this stage, if not "Erzatz" of MKII, which not hold water.
I hesitated a long time to make that choice anyway, but I went to the obvious. Why look elsewhere? it's true some brands offer more powerful engines, other super gadgets which will be used once or twice. But going to the basics! Simple, simple, ultra reliable, timeless .... and when we see how far he can go (see DMC Championship), I think 30 years of life announced for this plate will not be too many.
Regarding the price, yes it can be scary, but hey, it's up to you if you want to drive a Rolls, I chose ...
