For this new Session Keys Electric R library, e-instruments used a 1979 Rhodes Mark I keyboard and modified it with 8 individual outputs to capture all the sound nuances of the instrument.
You can choose in Kontakt two “characters”: Studio features the direct recordings with high end preamps and A/D converters for a clear sound, while Live uses classic vintage preamps and outboard gear for a rougher sounds, with a midrange that will sit nicely in dense arrangements.
But Session Keys Electric R goes further with features and tools that will radically transform the original Rhodes sound: you’ll find effect presets ranging from the classic phaser or auto pan to ambient pads and punchy short sounds ; effect chains using tremolo, chorus, amp simulation, delay and reverb as well as sound design tools to transform, for instance, a tremolo into a stutter effect. And what about the script engine that allows for changing every element of the keyboard and the Pentamorph controller that will help you quickly create new complex sounds? Possibilities are almost infinite.
Last, you’ll find an Animator with more than 200 Licks and phrases that will be played according to the key and harmonies and allows for controlling the dynamics and complexity of each phrase with the modulation and pitch bend wheels.
Note that Session Keys Electric R can also be played with a pad controller, thanks to the Smart Chord that allows for creating chords from a single note.
Session Keys Electric R requires the full version of Kontakt 5.1 and later. It is available for 79 € at www.e-instruments.com.
