I will not go too much on the characteristics indicated by Chouchou 79. The machine is well built, it easily attaches to a microphone stand and it is discreet.

On stage, many connections are not visible from the public because masked by a rubber back.

By using the best connections, it is still 6 cables to run along the foot. The connection is very complete with stereo outputs, but also a 6'35 XLR mono, which can be sometimes useful.

Level effects, there is a complete arsenal: modulations, such saturation effects or EQ extreme effects Hardtunes type, of delays, effects, dubbing, Reverb, and obviously a module for aligning and a looper.

The presets are unusable as extreme for me, they clearly intended to show what the camera was in the womb as part of a test headphone. As soon as one looks at the camera settings, you come to get what you want, adjusting levels of harmony or quantity effect.

There is a button "talk" very well thought can bypass all effects, convenient to announce that we have an EP to sell or we just Picardy without a delay of one kilometer. It should also be said also that the basic sound is not "organic", it is already covered, there's gate, compression and a kind of presence.

The basic sound is not editable in detail, but it can be bypassed or changed and there are some presets. The Voicelive communicates with the PC via USB with a simple software that lets you reorganize the presets (copy / paste / delete) to rename.

Attention, all changes are done via the camera and not in the software. The software also allows to archive full configs (mandatory) and make exports in the event you need to relocate a config in another voice live I guess.

In terms of design, I find great. For me, it lacks a mute button, an on / off and a knob for gain entry HiZ (the gain is adjusted in a submenu)

UTILIZATION

The manuals are correct, nothing more. I wish I had the full manual paperback rather than having to print and search across a stapler.

In terms of ergonomics, it is not because the machine is that it is intuitive touch.
One galley a little early and I did a lot of false manipulation. annoying as accidentally changing presets.

The use of USB is essential to quickly fix his config and evolve gradually.
So I can not say it's a friendly unit that likes to tinker constantly in real time. For me who am not very talented, but rather something that rule once and for all as a tracklist.
I use the device as a singer and guitarist in a band.
The optional foot switch 3 is mandatory, it can control the looper, the harmonies and to change the preset. For my use, I do not use more than 2 banks of favorites, 10 presets, with simple variants of reverb or delay and steering settings harmony (via the HiZ guitar or a predefined range by tracks).
The looper function works well.
With the foot switch it is still a slight lag in the release that there is no direct control by the display.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are very good, no worries. I do not use the extreme effects, but they laugh drummer. The reverbs are good and the effects such équalo phone are good too. Obviously, they tend to go on lollipop, care should be taken in setting the gain of the effect. The harmonies are realistic, the more one goes towards the extremes, the more you lose in realism. Again it is a matter of research and adjustments, title by title.

OVERALL OPINION

It's still great to have as many features into a single unit controllable from the scene.
This saves the use of a microphone or a megaphone type harmonica to the effects a little saturated.
Ditto for the looper function, used since the microphone lead. The ability to manage its presets including reverb from the stage by tapping meet people without having to hack a rack is good.
The device is valuable in the configs DIY type showcase, just being able to handle the volume of singing from the camera is handy, you can adjust easily without having to bend over to a table laid somewhere.
The reverbs are generally better built than the onboard effects of small tables. In short it saves time. After the scenes as practiced, as Indira, you may encounter difficulties in imposing such material on festivals or first portions of artists.
Say that in general, sound guys are the mouth when you unpack this kind of thing. Without generality, the sound technicians hate not having control of all sound parameters.
Some consider such devices as a gadget lover, the source of buzz, sudden changes in earnings, and feedback.
More reason to make use of the equipment and civilized for having spun his set earlier in scene conditions. Besides asking for two DI for the song, it's been bitching every time.
There is always the possibility of connecting to the patch by the XLR output, but it's a shame to lose the stereo.
In the end, I am delighted and I can only recommend this device. I did not raise risk of bugs in an earlier opinion, but I'm probably a more simplistic device, with few presets. Edit: when the sound is ensured by a provider, bypassing the reverb on all presets and let the soundman manage.
