Called AmpliTube Studio, this new version of the guitar amp and effect simulation app now allows for recording and mixing projects on your iDevice thanks to the 4-track recorder which can be extended to 8 tracks (4 only on iPhone), a master effect section and the DAW-type edition suite, all available via in-app purchase.
The Recorder/Mixer section offers a vintage Reel-to-Reel GUI with 4-bar Pre-Roll, bounce, mute, solo, volume and pan functions, 2 sends (1 on the iPhone) and a level meter with clipping indicator. A freeze feature allows for memorizing a signal chain configuration (with effects) per track in order to make reamping or modify the effects.
The Master effects, other new feature on this Studio/3 version, include reverbs, chorus, delays, a 3-band parametric EQ, a compressor and a gain control.
Last, the DAW/Editing section features track waveform display and editing tools, just like on your computer DAW (select, copy, paste, cut, erase, region, volume normalize, split, fade in/out, crop…).
AmpliTube Studio supports Audiobus and a drum looper is included.
You will find in the in-app store two bundles: the Total Studio Bundle (23.99€) includes the Master effects, DAW and 8-track recorder, while the Premium Recorder Bundle (13.99€) offers the recorder and master effects.
