Excellent
This console is primarily a console Scrateur, it is true that we can use it for mixing, but rather is oriented Scratch (it's a two-way). It has two inputs and two phono inputs Line / phono (switchable) and two sortiees master, in a Jack and a 6.35 in the CAR. There ausi an exit area and one in Rec, a headphone output and a 6.35 in 3.5 and a microphone input (XLR / Jack 6.35.) The connectiquees are gold plated.
This is an external transformer that feeds the mixer (which is a big problem, because it heats too much and it makes a little buzz). The on / off switch is placed at the back of the table (it's not a big deal, but it would be easier to put that kind of face buttons (like 707).
The table has a rotary knob to adjust the microphone volume, and two knobs for bass and treble (0> 10). Channels each have a rotary knob for volume, three others for bass / mid / high (30 / 20) and a balance. A rotary poteniomètre the master and the area and the headphone volume. And another for the cue. There are three slopes for each channel (-6/-20/-30).
Mechanically, the alps faders are very robust for this group of faders (the Analos). It is quite possible that after several years of use, you may have to change (or clean ... as for VCA crossfader. You can simply change the original by a crossfader vestax cf pcf or change the faders by vestax.
I also want to clarify that the knobs may become loose over time, as well as some crackling (which is normal for potos to carbon)
IF NOT, I forgot to mention that this table has a Slope to the cross fader! it adjusts the curve cutage the cross (it is really powerful but slower for curves). It also has a hammster that allows to switch the chanel 1 with 2.
Electronically Numark has done a good job (this product)! I often remove the table and I can confirm that this table has a good Ressu manufacturing. The same for the screen .. it is strong enough (it is true that you can remove it by force of scratch like a disease), but mostly ... she is very beautiful.
It's pretty simple to remove the top plate (8 screws) to better clean the surface of the beast.
UTILIZATION
Yes, the setup is very easy to use! From the beginning, it seems to master the product. Good! no 150 buttons, so you may easily understand the subject. The functions are easily accessible because the buttons are placed conveniently.
The manual is it all in English, so you have to have a "good" level in English to make a perfect translation of the manual! But since this table is simple to understand, there is no need to read it. Otherwise, look at the pictures! they can talk to you. But to answer the question fully, it is true (after translation) the manual is clear enough.
SOUNDS
In my experience and hindsight, I can say that this mixer has a very good sound quality ... the sound is very clean .... it is a well analog. In the category of mixers analos, the sound of Numark Pro SM-1 is much cleaner than the sound of a vestax PMC -05/06/07 home or an SA-5 Stanton home. That same day and night. I do not even speak in therm power! the master of the Pro-sm1 does not degrade the sound at any point when it goes into the red. The same applies to gains!
The small problem with this mixer (this legend rather) is that there is a small breath. Especially when you go up gains first time (which is normal when you put a look electronically) ... but to get to hear the breath you have to do everything to the max!
Equaliser is quite efficient, it makes quite a change of spectaculère bass .. it improves even the bass! The same goes for the midrange and treble (but especially for bass. In addition, they are fairly simple to handle (unless there is a small space between the knobs). The equalizer does not completely cut the sound too it was beautiful all to zero, the sound will come out anyway. But is it so important for Scratch DJs (or even for djs who mix)? I think not, so it's not for me a handicap!
OVERALL OPINION
I use this table for years and years! Always with me! everywhere! I love it. What I like about this table is its simplicity, its sound, its equalizer, its scales, its small LEDs, power, its design, its small size, its screen, ease-mail.
I had my hands (I got home and used) many other models: the Numark Pro SM 1-2 pdd 01/dxm pro, Stanton SA-5 SA-8 SA-12, Ecler HAK 310/320/380/nuo Clamaran / Smac / vestax PMC 05 06 07 (and the 05 Samurai). Pioneer DJM 600/800/700/300. Urei 1601 / Freevox / Technics sh / rane ttm 56 / etc ... But I do not compare the table (nurmark pro sm-1) with other models! because usually when you make only a comparison of a product, there emerges any important information about the product! I prefer to analyze the table (electronic, mechanical, etc.) and to compare it to other X models.
Today the price / quality ratio is really excellent. There is this table on a budget (so for that price, do not be shy). Even if you have it for 200 euros in a state of opportunity, it's still a beautiful object! with a huge life! And everything else that goes with it!
