Numark’s new four-channel iM9 DJ mixer is designed for mixing vinyl, CDs, iPod, microphones or any line-level audio source. Integrated BeatKeeper technology is designed to automatically detect a song’s BPM, allowing for crossfades from track to track. Sync Lock ensures that once the beat is locked in between two sources, it’s never lost, Numark assures.
With the iM9, DJs can shape the music with three-band EQ controls for every channel or create remixes and song transitions by engaging iM9's beat synced effects. It is complimented by a pro-grade crossfader, knobs and LEDs. The digital effects processing section of the iM9 brings a new way of applying beat synchronized effects.
The BPM is automatically tracked though the iM9's built in Beatkeeper technology. This constantly updated BPM serves as the basis for 10 time division preset buttons, which allow the DJ to change the pulse – from quarter note to eighth or sixteenth note, for example – upon which the onboard effects are based. The result, according to Numark, is effects that are always in time with the music. Any of the 10 different digital effects can be manipulated and applied to any channel including the iPod or the crossfader or main output.
In addition, DJs can incorporate a vocalist or address the audience with the dedicated microphone channel with XLR input, independent gain control and EQ. A second quarter-inch mic input is included. DJs can even record their performances to an iPod, thanks to the iM9's dock for iPod. iM9 is designed for use in clubs or by mobile DJs or any DJ using turntables, CDs or MP3s.

The iM9 mixer is available now from musical instrument and DJ retailers with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $499.00 and an estimated street price of $299.95.
