You can use the editor (download from edirol site), or if you got reason 3, it automatically recognizes it and you don't have to do jack! the interface is a bit cryptic.

this is where i have my gripe with the pcr 50... at first i thought this thing was really good quality, it feels as if it's pretty good, but then the middle black key in the lowest octave stopped working. i took a can of air and stuck it right between the keys, dust busted it, and then it worked (sort of) a few months later, that key stoped working despite attempts to clean it.
OVERALL OPINION
I don't really care. controllers are over rated. gimme one with like 3 knobs and two sliders and a bunch of keys that work and i'm happy.

The controllers loaded easily and showed up instantly on my mac.... the faders and knobs are a nice feature because u can control the NN-XT in reason from the knobs on the console (delay, decay etc)
the keys have such a great feel (for not being weighted).... the fluidity of midi data transfered is like ur actually playing the instrument patch ur using

All in all for the price and for the trusted name (edirol is part of the Roland corp) and for the durability (i beat on the keys lol) its one of the best things i have bought for midi... i have nothing but good things to say

Price paid: £110
UTILIZATION
Has many functions but i have to admit i use few. Maybe because i don't need them but i found the manual a bit confusing!
OVERALL OPINION
Sterdy piece of gear. Keys have remained soft throughout usage.
I have not much experience with midi keyboards and i'm sure there are better models oout there. But i love this little thing!!
