Characteristics, they know almost all, if not, just look at AF ... The use was intended to pre-listen to these speakers was principal of a home studio, and all without amps of course, the latter being active.

Beware though, the speakers are relatively sensitive to ground loop (electrical problem for the unfamiliar) was quick to hear the mouse moving, scraping hard drives, moving fader). So word of advice from experience, do not hesitate to plug into a circuit different from that of the computer or console, it avoids many problems, and it's worth listening to many elsewhere .. .

SOUNDS

It's quite difficult to answer this kind of test, because of the complexity of a "sound". It all depends on the room's acoustic treatment, support for pregnant women, their positioning, the presence of various materials in the room, etc ... So I decided to compare in the same room (Régie du studio where I work) with these speakers JBL4333, Mackie HR824 and Yam NS10. What emerges mainly, this is noticed by blurring a lot of people in the low end, that I lead from 120 to 230Hz. The rest of the spectrum appears to be relatively well balanced even though it seems there is a bump at the very high frequencies (17 to 20kHz). No doubt that Behringer wanted to bring shine to her pregnant. The idea is not bad in either, although one suspects that such frequencies, only certain harmonics can benefit.

The stereo image is good no more.

Dynamic level, no specific problem either, the speakers keep the same level of accuracy at low or high listening, this being probably due to the power output of the woofer (compared to the 2030A by the same manufacturer), but ca 2031 feet does not break a duck ...

OVERALL OPINION

Well, let us put things in their respective scales, compared to 4333 is obviously a little faiblarre, but it seems obvious. The NS10 has the advantage of being very accurate at mid and upper midrange (more efficient engines), it is also what makes these renowned speakers. Where the comparison is interesting, it's 824 deal with, because despite the hundreds of dollars more, they do not sound that crushes the 2031. The only advantage they have is to be much clearer in the lower frequency. However, you have four speakers for a 2031 824 in price. Clearly, one of the two is not worth its value. And to be honest, I think Behringer is not much quality and that are 824 surcotées

In conclusion, I think the monitor speakers are rather intended for home studio with a reasonable budget. This is probably one of the best quality / price ratio of current monitoring systems. NS10 and accompanied by switching from one to another, one can hope to achieve good results at mixing.
