I love them
Published on 10/17/10 at 21:17I chose Dynaudio due to their renown manufacturing quality, they are not made in China.
I give them 10/10.
I use them for mixing and mastering.
SOUNDS
In my view, the frequency response curve is very flat, the dynamic response is also very good for speakers of this size, they lack a bit of lows but they are very precise, the stereo image is wonderful, I have the impression of having the singer right in front of me, I can hear sounds I hadn't heard with Adam and Mackie speakers. The sound is clear enough, very up-front mids, which doesn't annoy me, you'll need to adjust the frequency response setting the high-mids to -2.

OVERALL OPINION
I've had these Dynaudio for three weeks.
I have used many speakers throughout my life, yamaha ns10, adamA7, genelec 8030a (a bit too hi-fi), krk vxt8 (mids too far back and not precise enough), passive alesis, yamaha hs80, and, lately, I was also able to recover the mackie hr828, the first excellent speakers for mixing, but the lows are a bit loose, they are a bit muddy.
What I like best is their size, they are not as imposing as bigger speakers, like the mackie hr828 or vxt8, which are heavy. What I like least is the lack of lows (which you can correct with a sub)
They are worth their price.
With hindsight, I think Dynaudio has a rightful place among studio monitor manufacturers, although, if I had to, I would buy the BM12 insteas.See less00 - moosersPublished on 08/22/09 at 16:53The Dynaudio Acoustics BM5As are a pair of studio monitors made for professional recording studios. The sound that comes from the Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A is pretty incredible. It has a full bodied sound and great response all across the frequency spectrum, including crisp highs and resonant lows. They are perfect for both mixing and monitoring during recording because they provide a truly accurate sound and don't color your tone in any way. The EQ settings in the back make it possible to tune these to a room, which comes in handy more for home studio owners than professional ones because chances are that home studio owner doesn't have a tuned room. Other than the accurate sound, the stereo imaging and good as is the dynamics. The Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A are simply a great set of studio monitors.
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, the Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A are some of my favorite studio monitors out there for a few reasons. Obviously the great sound quality is the main concern as that is the first thing I would look for in a set of studio monitors. They not only sound great but aren't nearly as expensive as you would think. For this reason I would recommend these to all engineers whether you have a home studio or a professional one. The Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A are simply a great set of studio monitors, especially for mixing but they are also great for monitoring during recording or simply listening on. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced set of high end studio monitors, the Dynaudio Acoustics BM5As are for you. .See less30
