A combo input XLR / jack and a knob for volume

No adjustment possible for the level of serious and acute.

I added a Behringer miniFBQ to 49 euros which I use to control volume and EQ, which works very well.

SOUNDS

Some time ago a friend and sound engineer, myself, have organized a weekend listening.
KRK V4, Fostex pm0.4, pm0.5, and Dynaudio BM5A air6.
In the view of all ten persons present, the 0.5 has the house down ...

Nobody has really lingered on V4, it sounds really small, narrow, blah ...

The 0.4 is really nice with some respet stamps, a good analysis of the details and, most importantly, they are still listenable after 6 AIR eg. It is imperative to put on the table to take advantage of ground effect as they are designed like that, next to the screen of the computer for editing sound / video is the ideal ...

The 0.5 has the same qualities but with more power, (much) more serious and obviously more important.
What is remarkable is that the 0.4 and 0.5 have the same signature sound, which is rare.
(The AIR 6 or AIR 15 and the FAR AV6 and AV20 really have nothing to do and that's a shame for air and AV20 ... 15)
Compared with the Dynaudio BM5A, nine out of ten preferred the 0.5 and it's really a surprise.
The auditors criticized BM5A Treble too emphasized, remains a serious lack of (rather vague attacks on bass drum for example)..

The BM5A on the classic are better here because they do not have the "box" of 0.5, but are not as good on vocals and other instrumentals such as guitars, piano (jazz genre, speak ...) compared to 0.5 after the tastes and colors ...

Dynaudio Air 6's are really above the fray. They did not have concurrent and served mainly to listen witness.
I did not think that with the same speakers (but not the same electronic) between air and BM5A 6 that the difference would be as impressive.
I have since added the sub to go with the 0.5 and 0.5 if you do not have a neighbor you really not do without.
Even build quality, it can correct the main defect of this kind of small plays: the lack of power.
With only one sub and two 0.5, already have a set of high quality that can truly claim to mix seriously.
Bass is clean, dry and comfortable it was a power for any type of music mix.
It is gaining momentum.

OVERALL OPINION

At 285 Euros a pair, the 0.5 boxing in the same category as BM5A as much to say right now, they are without any direct competition.
Better yet, adding the sub 0.5, was really a set of quality, consistent process without considering the complex mix and all for less than 600 Euros
