My choice is the simple fact of the very good value for money, and testing conducted by Audiofanzine very positive at the time.

Anyway, at this price, I do not think he equivalence. Certainly that KRK M-AUDIO or are a little better, but the pair also costs 200 euros more so ...

Anyway, I'm not disappointed in regard to the sound reproduction.

I bought these monitors for home-studio facility.

All my instruments (midi keyboard, turntables, guitar, bass, AKAI MPC) as well as my MacBook Pro (with LOGIC PRO 8) are connected to my soundcard (Tascam FW-1884) and the speakers are connected directly to the outputs out 1 and 2 of my sound card. The nickel everything works!

However, I do work in my home, and at one point there was a problem of power grid, and high voltage change to a damaged part in the speakers (the same in both), that j 'ai be replaced by an electronics store (the speakers made a terrible noise then) it cost me 70 euros per speaker, and now they work as before.

I'm not a physicist, but I have a good ear, and frankly the record is very good, and the output power (140w) is ample for what I did.

Furthermore, I can not compare with other speakers, since this is the first pair of monitors that I bought.

OVERALL OPINION

For the price, and despite the problem of power surge that damaged the speakers, it's still a very good investment.

I would do this choice. Of course if we can afford to buy or KRK M-AUDIO (to stay in reasonable), I think it's better, but it's also a bit more. See for yourself, anyway, it's still good material.

At the time (early 2007) there was a buzz on prodipe Pro 8, and my budget so I allowed it. I was also impressed by Genelec but was out of my purse.

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for three years and never had any problem with. I'll probably keep them until they are rinsed, but if I had to buy I probably point me to something else, such as the Mackie MR 8, which seem a priori better.

I had Samsom Resolv50 with cabinet that does not suit me.
The size of my home studio from 10 to 25 sqm and I focused on using and mastering Drum with PC (amateur) to play with my Hammond.

I use a Creative X-Fi card Elite.

The image is very good and the curves are better than my AKG 240 for mastering.
The momentum is going very well but I from time to time or equivalent Creative speakers that are faster in percussion.

OVERALL OPINION

I have since 2-3 years. I could look in the store with KRK, Yamaha on the same source but the room is not the same. This provides a true idea of the difference but we must be careful that the layout and type of coating the room change the sound in the end.

The choice was as usual based on a maximum price not to exceed and sound quality. The price difference does not justify the KRK little difference in the sound for KRK.

Only downside, these speakers are not protected against interference unlike Samson50 entry level. The ADSL modem, mobile phone ... are all approved by the speaker that can bizizi or pit pit pit ... less than 1 meter.

I was looking for speakers with a sound clear enough to mix electronica.

Power is not bad, I never grows beyond the volume pot a quarter turn.

The HP 8 "is quite significant for low frequencies.

It's been a year and a half that I have and for my use, they suit me.

They have a bad reputation (see forum) yet I've never had to worry. After I use only one or two hours per day maximum without pushing them thoroughly.

I am not an expert but monitoring for budget student like me, not bad.

At the time I've bought mostly for their 8-inch HP which allows speakers to move slightly lower than the 5 "or 6" and also for their price

I use these speakers for everything cope and mix of electro and jungle, listening to all types of music (classical music goes particularly well) I watch movies and I mix

As another has already said, I find that the tweeter would have been better.
Lack of finesse, and shallow sound (it often comes treble). It's annoying to deal with reverb, check the level of breath taking, mix small details.

Good value for money.

I tried out several products and the sound difference doesn't justify the price difference compared to other brands.

I use it for music creation and mixing on an amateur level.
No need for an external amp because the Pro 8 are powered.

9/10 because I haven't tried out many other products considering I'm satisfied with them.


SOUNDS

I do hip-hop with powerful lows. The Pro 8 allow me to work properly: the frequency response is linear enough, the dynamic response is very good, the sound is very precise.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using them for over two years. They are my first monitor speakers.

Pros:
- Their looks
- Value for money
- Long life (even though one of broke because of intensive, even abusive, use)

Cons:
Nothing

I already made my choice: I'll receive a second pair in a couple of days!
