«  Really not bad ... »

Monitoring speakers fairly compact, beefy (cast aluminum) so stable.
Jack and XLR connectors and markers of response curve at the rear gear.
Brief very serious hardware for its price and even more than some competing models ... (See below).

SOUNDS

The sound is very clear (Yamaha would have it), neutral or even a little clinic in the medium; bass and clear treble and detail can work properly equalizations really discerning sources.
No crash dynamics, natural reproduction.
For those seeking a sound flattering, caressing the mixer in the direction of the hair, buy a music system

OVERALL OPINION

I use them since their purchase in 2004, and I do not use them because they are enough for me and that I have my bearings.
I could, when buying them, compare them with Tannoy Reveal (a bit aggressive for my taste and color mediums) and Alesis M1 MKII (too flattering to be honest), sold in the same price at the time .
The Yamaha, among the three, are those which seem the most return the CD I had on me: no staining, no excessive bass boost, treble definition of good without becoming aggressive.
Obviously this is only my opinion (the goal) and I advise everyone to test several models at the same time: there really is a matter of taste in the choice of monitoring speakers.
For my part, I would do this choice without hesitation.
