« The anti-brainer! »
Published on 02/21/14 at 20:46Previous reviews, almost everything has been said again and again! This is the analog to very low noise.
Only regret for me, the SEND mono without RETURN. I would have preferred stereo ...
For synths, yet it is quite obvious, I think! Otherwise we can take comfort in saying that it allows you to use more easily guitar effects (in stompbox, for example).
UTILIZATION
Use completely intuitive. Very simple and effective. Good ergonomics overall.
A few cool and often very practical tips (with the MUTE LED per channel, the switch SEND TO PHONE with Led).
Precisely, it allows you to view switch on the small VU meter RX1602 the signal sent by the SEND (and hear with headphones, of course). Practice!
And it allows possibly attack another effect from a stereo jack on the front of which the output level can be adjusted separately by the PHONE LEVEL. Sometimes useful from time to time ...
SOUNDS
100% transparent. It's a summer without EQ, and it's perfectly its job very cleanly.
For breath, I would say to critics go first check their sources, their DIs and wiring before starting to criticize by pure principle because it is the Behringer.
Most synths, modules and expanders, even recent, are much noisier than the RX1602, and not to mention the effects racks or line output guitar amps and bass! Start by having a clean input signal before judging that which is output.
Okay, Behri produced dung, but he also sometimes produces good machines, and it is fortunately the case here: signal / HiFi very close to noise ratio, in my opinion.
In most cases with my synths and sound modules (all entries-10dB), I attack without forcing 0-3 dB output leaving most levels between 11am and noon, with a very clean crisp sound in all frequencies, and dynamic range without distortion. There has reserve power for a little weak signals, but still not enough for a dynamic mic ... Do not ask!
OVERALL OPINION
I bought my first new under warranty, there are at least 5 or 6 years, and the second secondhand there 3 or 4 years, having been perfectly satisfied with the performance of the first. The number of my machines increased, then it had to! So, I do need a fairly minimal mixer for all my studio, and I prefer it (especially lack of space!).
I have not had the opportunity to test other brands / models of the same type. Too rare, too expensive, too big, not enough entries, too damaged secondhand, etc ...
The more the number of entries in only 1U, audio quality, MUTE through stereo with Led ... And of course the price!
Least: SEND mono without RETURN. Could at least be stereo ...
Price / quality ratio at the top, no doubt about it. Congratulations Behri, nice shot!
So we can say that the experience is very successful in my case: I've relapsed once, and I probably still récidiverai if the need arises!
