Peavey PV 6

I was in the market to buy a small mixer that was compact and had at least 4 channels. I came across the Peavey PV6, it has 6 channels so I decided to get it because of the price and figured the two extra channels would not hurt and I could probably use them. I love the design of this mixer because for this price you don’t find many mixers that have a nice look to them. The main base of this mixer is like a white-ish brushed color that pops out, not like all of the rest of the lower end mixer. The knobs are bright orange, blue, black and even some white ones. They are all made well too; they look great and will not break or get stiff even if though I was a little harsh on them.

UTILIZATION

This mixer has 1 effects send and 1 effects return. It has effects built into it that I found rather good for it to be at this price. The input type is XLR and there are 4 inputs and 2 outputs on the PV6.

SOUNDS

The PV6 works with a 16.5 VAC power supply and only weighs around 5 pounds. It is very portable and looks great. I would take it everywhere with me for a while. I do still own it but don’t use it much because I am not as mobile as I use to be in the years past but I will get rid of it because it worked great and I never know when I may need it again.

OVERALL OPINION

This mixer allowed me to adjust the Rang of the microphone input gain from 10dB to 60Db easily and even the LED metering was pretty good. I really have no complaints with this mixer and the price (100 dollars) is great for the features and quality of a mixer that it is. I recommend this over a lot of other mixers in this price range that are coming out now.

The VP6 Peavy table is quite compact, but the fact that the knobs are quite small and really close to one another. The design of the table because there was not enough room to put an EQ on stereo inputs medium.

The steel frame is sturdy, it can not be said for plastic knobs at the bottom end. I'm afraid they are in my hand whenever I turn.

UTILIZATION

The activation of the phantom power button does not protrude from the chassis and requires a pen to turn on / off, which is not very convenient.

The master slider causes crackling over time and must have contact problems because I lose the stereo by increasing or lowering the volume.

SOUNDS

What interests me most is the quality of the headphones to play late at night when the children are asleep. For this test I compared with a Behringer Eurorack mixer which is in the same price range.
A volume of the same input, for the same volume of output, with gains of input and master to 0 dB, I have to put the headset volume on the ¼ and ½ behringher on Peavey. Problem is that the Peavey model, past the ¼ volume, it has a large enough deaf breath.

For comparison, the eurorack model has a power reserve yet large enough and when you push the volume is then heard a slight white noise which is much less irritating to the ears as deaf breath very present Peavey.

OVERALL OPINION

In conclusion, having tried both, for virtually the same price, if you are looking for a small table look rather effective mix on the side of Behringer Eurorack.

Sufficient connection, because it keeps the advantage of an ultra-compact!
To add to the features already mentioned, the headphone volume knob very useful, and not always present in some brands!

UTILIZATION

Easy to use, a novice could use it. CD supplied with instructions.
The buttons are sturdy.

SOUNDS

Found no breath in all situations tested (piano, synthesizer, guitar, bass, microphones, turntables ...)
Presence of a contour button for the low volume.
The equalizer is effective and can be felt well enough.

OVERALL OPINION

I used it a few weeks in home studio, perfect for a small set.
Perfect for the price, nothing to do with Behringer et al.
She told me that I quite enjoyed the exchange against the PV8 USB.

Small mixer is used in home studio or possibly a sub for fair mix before entering a real console (to make a line of stro drum overheads, for example)

A small BMOL master fader for spitting a bit, if you are looking for a mixer made of its mobile micro as I advise you to go to plutt a mixer with only potentiomtres the dusts can not fit in it more reliable.

SOUNDS

The sound is clear without problem, the equalizer works well electro trs is perfectly suited prcis powerful ... etc..

OVERALL OPINION

I have two years it was with her that I did all my models that are actually small productions dj and overall it fulfills its rle, but Fawn Ingala . The sound and music is wide enough for the price but to make real instrument sounds taken from the static light etc, it is a little short.
Despite this I keep it again but if I had a choice I would put a little more as to make such a Mackie
