Published on 02/15/12 at 06:46
Audience: Beginners
Rackable model 19 "without fixing system
64 sites memories (hardware exists an extension: MEX-8000)
Style sheets, pads and leads (some bass sounds)
all the parameters are easily editable
silkscreen on chassis very practical, high quality.
Complete connectivity: Midi: In, Out, Thru jack outputs + 2 + 6.35 + 1 stereo headset for In / Out Tape to safeguard its presets on casette "audio" (no you are not dreaming; synth date 1982)

UTILIZATION

General config = very clear and simple ideal for "beginners" in hardware synth!
the manual is very clear (in English)

SOUNDS

Perfectly adapted to electro and all other styles of music "modern 80's".
The sounds are very realistic for a digital synth, it sounds like pure analog (without shortcomings type buzz, hum, crackles, ...)
effects are few (cutoff, resonance, chorus, Inv polartité) but very useful. The chorus is essential!
the sounds are very (very!) nice and easy to use in any prod.
Against by the sounds still quite restricted in the type and color. but somehow this is not the goal?

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few months.
I had some synth digital / analog Korg but I wanted a very long time!
the +
Korg sound 80's (ca few seem "stupid" to say ca, but once you have one under the ears, it sounds much less "stupid" ;) to test by yourself!
edition of the simplicity of the parameters and in serigarphie facade! not need the manual!
The -
lack of effects to be little, or the MIDI implementation a bit old school?
(There are several simple electronic modifications and cheap! Including one on the south!)
€ 200 Used ca not refuse! Machine almost my age and is nikel level electronics! I have a synth made in 2006 that are already in the trash: irreparable!
So with the experience I will buy another but as a keyboard this time "Poly 800 mk2"! varied and fascinating history ;)
