UTILIZATION

It could not be simpler. Perfect for learning the basics of subtractive synthesis.

SOUNDS

Very typical 80's, it is clear, especially if the claim goes into the chorus. Anyway, in general, that's why we bought it.
There is limited but it has its small charms of its own, unmistakable.

OVERALL OPINION

Since January 2009. I made quite a scene with. Used nabbed 400 euros with flightcase indesctructible .... But happiness since. No worries, no crashes, it is stable, everything is fine.
In short, it will not leave me so soon this little Juno.

analog synth, it's a "fake" two oscillators.
A classic ocillo + a sub. 6-voice polyphony a vcf by voice.
Midi in / out, pedal classic ...
No utility computing, everything is under your fingers.
Pitch, modulation, sustain, vcf, filter, lfo ...
Chorus (famous), all parameters are editable in real time vias faders and switches from different modules

Bass and tablecloths are his chosen field.
One of the best analog ever built, because of its efficiency, simplicity, robustness and price, because it was manufactured in very large quantity and we find it so easily.

OVERALL OPINION

Everything has been said before me.
The downside is the vcf happening all at the end of life, but once changed is distributed for 20 years minimum.

Surely I'll buy several more in the future, I travel a lot and I like to have one when I work on the prod of an album, and since it is still heavy and bulky, as having one on the spot.

Very easy to use (I do not use the patch bank) handling very fast, I have no manual and I did what I want with this machine.
MIDI connections handy!

Sound is very typical 80's, especially when active chorus ...
Typed too? Maybe, but with a bit of creativity can make this synth sound in another way that hits Italo-disco which he participated. The Basses are monstrous! The chorus adds to the magnitude of his very radical, it may have to play ultra-funky leads, pads and atmospheric humming wobbles very trendy right now ... His excellent filter bill may push the machine to produce sounds like acid bleeps and another of all kinds. One can regret its limitations for the lfo, very basic for my taste, and another feature that could bring the power of a Jupiter, but this is not the same budget!

OVERALL OPINION

I have for over a year now, in the meantime I had other polyphonic hands, but it has much more charm than its equivalent at the time .
The Juno 106 combines the power of a vintage analog technology with its handy connections for MIDI and a budjet relatively "honest." Very easy to use, great sound, the look is rather sympa.C is a synth that has a special place in my set-up.
The black spot is his voice problems, knock on wood, because mine works perfectly, but over time his voice eventually go on a pacifier, so he must either change them or leave them with the technique of acetone. Take a Juno 106 unrevised at more than 500 euros I do not really seem reasonable. Very good synth

pop and electro.
So let's be clear: it can produce a bass sound pretty good especially eigthies nice, after which small electro noise, groundwater is not the best I find the leads either.

OVERALL OPINION

Was my first analog! I bought this one because it was my favorite group, which had been used "SAINT ETIENNE" in their song "Like a motorway" for the bass (if you know not need to fill it! I love).
Afterwards, out of this bass sound, this synth for me is very interesting. Rather cold, not great except on the famous crystal-clear sounds and bass.
I say that with my experience that after the juno 106 has been expanded instead (I had my period altogether vintage with almost all the leaders of this type purchased and resold for some).
In fact a "basic" virtual analog as the Access Virus Indigo 2, for example, outperforms the old juno both ways! the 106 not sound more analog or warmer, it is also downright less versatile. I just preferred the 60, fattest, sounding less "digital"!
A good machine anyway eh! but hey there really more interesting in the analog world is clear especially in the range of prices (and reliability .... ahem). I do not think I'll buy at 500 euros even nickel.

Wish it had a second oscillator and ring mod and an arpeggiator, but great for what it is. I'm just happy to have FULL MIDI functionality

Easiest synth ever to program. No need to say anything more.

One of my voice chips died and I had to nearly circle the globe to find a replacement. DAMMIT ROLAND WHY DID YOU HAVE TO CURSE THIS GREAT SYNTH WITH SHODDY VOICE CHIPS?

SOUNDS

Great sounds. DEEP basses and WARM pads. The world famous juno sound.

OVERALL OPINION

My favorite synth simply for the bass, it's difficult to describe the beautiful sound that comes out when you pull up the env freq on a juno bassline.
